796 Views We are 138
"You just need your surroundings and you can evolve"- Mark Ong aka SBTG, takes viewers through his creative process and roots growing up in the perceived restrictions of Singapore. Finding inspiration in the simplest of forms, SBTG creates the "138" shoe collaboration with FICE Boutique in Salt Lake City, Utah and explains how the Misfits inspiration guided the collaboration. On the surface the film purposes to expose the cerebral world of SBTG and an emerging sub-culture in Singapore, but the film becomes deeply personal as SBTG reveals how his experiences have affected his work and current mindset. The collaboration shoes are available at ficegallery.com Directed by: Skylar Nielsen Executive Producer: Corey Bullough Produced by: FICE & VitaBrevisFilms Cinematography: Ian Rigby Title design: Michael C. 755 Views Diego Stocco - Music From A Dry Cleaner
Almost everyday, on my way to a local bakery, I walk in front of a dry cleaners. When they have the front door open, I hear a lot of interesting sounds coming from their work equipment. Eventually, the different mechanical and steam sounds sparked something in my mind, so one day I asked the owners if I could record a piece of music by using their machines as musical instruments. I used a puff iron, press and dry cleaning machines, a washer, clothes hangers, and a bucket full of soap. The bass and lead sounds were created from the buzzing tones coming from the conduits and engines. There are no additional sounds from any traditional or electronic instruments. Enjoy! Somethin’ Better Than Nothin’ is an anthemic standard of forlorn love that builds to a mass only to be drowned out in wailing feedback. This aquatic themed space-tinged video was directed by Juan Iglesias. Somethin' Better Than Nothin' is taken from the Takeshi Miyaki EP which is available to download here: bitly.com/pWZzCG
