MST Club presents.... The Isle of Rangoon ("Adventures in Learning and Sarcasm") is a puppety-thing with a Youtube (and formerly a web, Wayback link) presence. They do a variety of things, but two of their primary muppety-puppets are Starchibald (short blue) and Sunny Jim (large furry yellow), who riff video shorts. The Rangoons' posting frequency has diminished recently, with their last video currently a year old, but they still seem to be together. On Thursday we're viewing three of their riffs with the theme of technology. Their first riff ever was Leave It To Roll-Oh (9m, riffed May 2012), offering a view of mechanical automation circa 1940. Shortly after that they riffed an episode of Torchy the Battery Boy (23m, August 2012). The main event however was their 100th riff, Cyber Surfin' (40m, April 2019), a 1995 video to helpfully explain this crazy nternet thing to normal people.
