I can't unmute myself on computer

My computer keeps defaulting to me being on mute, resulting in others not being able to hear me during video calls (on both doxy.me and simple practice video)

When I do telehealth sessions on my computer, I can hear the other person, but they can't hear me. This happens across two different video platforms. In my computer settings, I clicked on "sound settings" and "troubleshoot"- results were "it looks like your device is mute, would you like to unmute it?" I clicked on "yes".

However, when I start a video session thereafter, the person I am talking to still can't hear me. I've tried turning my computer off and on too, done the troubleshooting several times and this is across several video sessions at different times. Would appreciate any advice!! (this is Windows 10 on a Lenovo). Why does my computer keep reverting to being on mute? (others can't hear me- but I still have sound on the computer for videos)
