Panic gripped the city as a lorry careered down a shopping street and smashed into a store window.

A man who works in the shop laid flowers:
"It’s been a real shock. I know a lot of people that were really really close to getting hit by the truck. For me, it has been an emotional weekend, really emotional.”

Another was expecting some form of attack:“I said just a week before that it is just a matter of time before it is going to pop up in Sweden. To some people, Sweden has some sort of symbolic value of peace and conflict resolution and such but it’s just a matter of time, I thought, that this would happen here in Sweden."
