I am going to South Korea in August and I know I need to buy an e-sim.
Do you have any good information on this process? I am getting lost in internet links.
Things I know
I should buy an e-sim linked to a Korea phone company such as Korea Telecom so that if I have issues I can go to a store and ask.
I know I can buy it now and have it immediately accessible.
Things I am not sure
I think I can request and get a Korean number which seems sort of helpful for phone reservations? But then my friends & family (kid's school, doctor, etc) won't be able to contact me via messaging, right?
How will this interact with my apps? Specifically DuoMobile which I need for work and/or all the other two factor authentication apps that I can't seem to turn off.
When I went abroad two years ago I just turned off 2-factor for a number of things, but now it doesn't seem like I have that option.
General details that may or may not be relevant.
I have a new iphone.
I do not have a carrier that does international calling, so not an option.
I will be working while in country and leading a small group so I need this phone to work and will purchase unlimited data.
