I don't think I'm unique in finding all the Democratic candidates a little wanting, so I expect a lot of folks are in the same boat - lacking someone to clearly support on merit, how can we make the most of a vote in a situation where the worst possible outcome (Hilton and Bianco finish 1 & 2) is still statistically possible, though recent polls indicate that chance is diminishing.
My plan now is to wait to submit my ballot until fairly late (I may even just vote day of) and track the poll numbers, accepting that I might feel compelled to vote for my least favorite Dem option.
Does any other strategy make sense? I'm open to arguments about potential matchups being relevant even if it's risky in terms of polling numbers (like, you don't think X ever beats Hilton, so vote Y in the primary and roll the dice even if they are polling worse). |
