Alternatives to Outlook, Gmail and AOL for a web-based Email Provider?

This is not a question about email clients / locally installed apps, but rather the email provider itself.

Recently my primary setup was successfully reconfigured from a Windows 10 Professional system to a custom built system running Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon. Leaving the Outlook.com web-based email service is the last step in saying bye-bye to Microsoft. While it hasn't been my immediate priority, Outlook.com has been having service interruptions in recent months, and my patience is shot. For example, today I could not access it from Firefox (my usual browser), but could on Chromium.

There is something called Proton which allegedly prioritizes privacy, and others (Zoho, Neo, Tuta, Mailfence) that show up on a web search but about which I know nothing.

As always, your suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!
