Can New Talk to Old?

Can I get a new-ish TV to talk to a decidedly old sound system?

The flatscreen TV we currently have came equipped with a wealth of various input/output connections, which happily includes RCA audio-out jacks with which I connect the TV to our definitely old (dare I say "vintage?") sound system. It works great. I can fill the place with lovely noise from various streaming sources (Pandora, Soma, etc.) from the Roku.

Last weekend, our son gifted us with his old TV (he got a new one.) Sounds cool. But, after looking it over, there seems to be no way to get it connected to our sound system. The new TV appears to have only inputs (HDMI, component, USB, etc.) There are RCA audio-in jacks, but no outs. The only output is a minijack for headphones (which isn't an option, as I assume using it would mute the tv's speakers.) There's also an HDMI-ARC slot, but that isn't going to work for me.

Is there an easy way to get audio out from the TV to the sound system? Or am I out of luck on this one? I can't be the first old to encounter this issue (right?)

Will this be an issue with any new TV today, or are they still making TVs with proper audio outs
