What's your secret sauce to get a cat to eat when he has no appetite.
We adopted a 14-year-old fat tuxedo cat, Gomez Addams, from a lady in a nursing home who could no longer care for him. We got him gradually out of his isolation and after a day, he hurtled through a door that was open a crack and was gone for a month. Someone found him last night. He's injured but will hopefully heal but the vet said it's critical for him to eat. And he's not. We've tried 3 kinds of dry, 2 kinds of wet, Churu, the treats his previous owner fed him (i.e. he was ONLY fed treats), and the warmed up tinned fish the vet suggested and nothing. He's drinking a little water but we need to do better than that. He got a shot of Cerenia that's supposed to help with appetite 3 hours ago. Any ideas? Comment with cat tax to follow.
