I’ve noticed more people talking about affordable JDM cars lately, especially for travel in Japan. What surprised me is that you don’t actually need to buy or import these cars to experience them anymore. Renting seems to be a much easier option, especially if you're only visiting for a short time.
From what I’ve seen, cars like the Toyota 86 or Mazda MX-5 are usually good starting points because they balance performance and cost really well. It also depends a lot on where you’re driving—city routes feel completely different compared to highways or mountain roads.
