My MIL and her partner have a bird in the pipe of their (unused) wood burning stove. Can you please give us tips on how to get it out?
Here is the fireplace. Here is the bird. Our bird friend is very annoying. I can see the bird if I open the fireplace doors and peer up into the damper area when the knob on top is pushed all the way in. We aren't sure if that means the damper is open or closed. When the knob is pulled out, the bird pecks very aggressively. We've put a flashlight in the fireplace, taped over the hole we're the knob is, and duct taped a mesh laundry bag around the opening of the fireplace, in hopes that it will eventually come out, but no such luck. Are we doing it wrong? We are in WA, and my husband and I just moved here, so we prefer not to have someone come out unless necessary. |
