Where should I get gift certificates for Xmas?

I'm so tired of shopping for Christmas. I want to get gift certificates for people (a few adults and a couple of young teenagers).

I'm in NYC and my sister has pre-empted me by getting gift certificates to the cool bookstore the Strand. I don't want to get gift certificates at, say, The Gap (well, who knows, maybe I'll be reduced to that).

I also don't necessarily want to get them at online places, because that's a drag, to hope that you get packages delivered (they live in a brownstone in Brooklyn). Is there any other "cool" store where they could choose "cool" clothing, say (cause books are now covered) --???

Maybe I really am reduced to chains like The Gap, maybe that's what they want. I don't know.
I'm tired. I'm 76, I've bought it all for everyone.

oh and they don't want donations made to == wherever or whatever -- in their name.

They want STUFF.
