My wife and I are trying to plan a fall trip and we're looking for unique cultural/art experiences. For reference, we've loved the Scrovegni Chapel, the Bayeux Tapestry, the Blue Mosque, Alhambra, and Samarkand. We are looking things that are inseparable from their place.

We are not specifically looking for museums or galleries. But if there's some weird little one somewhere, we'd check it out. Assume we've been to all the big ones.

Europe is preferable given the travel distance from New England, but we'd genuinely consider anywhere if the case is compelling enough. October is our window.
