How to find the bus/shuttle from Rockaway Beach BACK to the ferry?

My partner and I have been going to Rockaway Beach a lot and walk from the ferry (108th Street) to the boardwalk, but it is a LONG walk for us (we are 75 and 80 years old, and legs not working that great while carrying beach chairs, etc.!) but we're having a really hard time figuring out the buses to take us to the boardwalk -- no, that's not true --- it's to take us BACK FROM the beach TO the ferry to go home.

Just once we took a bus (I can't remember the number) and it dropped us off at a great stop right near the boardwalk (East of 108th, but I can't remember the exact street), BUT when it was time to go back to the ferry we stood where we thought the bus would come but no bus ever came and we wound up walking the long walk back to the main road that runs along where the ferry stop is (Beach Channel Drive) and even longer than usual because now we had to walk back to 108th as well (we didn't know what buses would come at Beach Channel Drive and trusted nothing at that point).

I've been looking and looking and I'm reading about a shuttle bus to Riis Park (where we do not want to go) and city buses etc etc but I CANNOT find anything about WHERE a bus stop is to get BACK TO THE FERRY.

Repeating, we don't want to go to Riis Park. We just want to go to SOME stop that could be close to 108th (that part doesn't matter much) that is very near the boardwalk where we can know EXACTLY WHERE TO STAND to get a bus or shuttle BACK TO THE FERRY. (It would be nice if the part of the beach had a bathroom! in fact that is a requirement). Oh, also, this is for weekdays only.

I don't know why this is so hard! but apparently, for me, it is. Any help appreciated!
