What are some good board games for 2 people to play while waiting outside in line? That means the games should be A) Small and light B) Not require any intricate layout. C) Be engaging and not too quick. We're trying to kill time here so better to play one half hour game than a million rounds of a 2 minute game. Fun for an adult and a 9 year old child.

The line will not move for hours and once it starts moving, it will just go all at once, so no need for a game that can be moved while in play.

Child is very literate and pretty good at math, so need to avoid difficulty exactly, but anything so intricate it becomes boring would be....boring.

Game would be played sitting on the sidewalk.
