Can I really not take more than 1 dose of Excedrin Migraine per day?

YANMD. Excedrin Migraine (and its drugstore-brand knockoffs) is the drug that can stop my migraine in its tracks. I've been using it for years. The dosing instructions say I can only take two tablets (which is a single dose) per 24 hours. Is that really the limit? I assume this has to do with the acetaminophen...but I have questions.

The ingredients in a single tablet, so double this for one dose:
Aspirin: 250 mg
Acetaminophen: 250 mg
Caffeine 65 mg

So 2 Excedrins have as much Acetaminophen as 1 Extra-Strength Tylenol, and you can take 2 of those every 6 hours. So that can't be the issue. I know aspirin is hard on stomachs; I'm extremely careful to take the meds with a full meal.

This is an issue for me because every now and again -- maybe 1 out of 10 times -- the first dose doesn't kill my migraine, and I take another. I make sure to wait a minimum of 6 hours.

Am I killing my liver? Is there something else I should know about this
