How can I show the sum of all users’ points inside the Activity Count widget area?

I’d like to display a single site-wide “Total User Points” number alongside the standard Activity Count on my Q2A site.
Requirements:
• Auto-updates (no manual editing)
• Works with the default table prefix
• Preferably as a small widget (sidebar/footer), but a snippet I can insert into a theme layer is fine too
