Having some health symptoms and trying to figure out if it's Prozac or food poisoning. Can Prozac cause sudden-onset muscle pain, chills, diarrhea, and a slight fever within 4 days of taking a low dose (2.5 mg)?
I took 2.5mg of Prozac Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues, and Wed. No effect on Mon. Tues night I experienced sudden-onset muscle pain (came on within 2 hours) all over my body which has lasted > 24 hours, as well as diarrhea today, some stomach pain, gas, chills, and a slight fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit). I feel that I haven't been this sick before. Could this be Prozac symptoms? (I also tried 10mg Prozac for one day, a week ago, and didn't experience these kinds of symptoms.)
I'm trying to figure out whether it's the Prozac or potential food poisoning. The alternative is to suspect restaurant food (shrimp, chicken) or a pre-made meal delivery service that I've used without problems for multiple years.
YANMD; I've consulted with a nurse and psychiatrist and have access to medical care. However, I find that doctors sometimes aren't intimately familiar with their patients' experiences or with some of the rarer side effects of meds, so I prefer to also hear from people who have taken the meds. |
