Toilet tank not filling up

Short version: I turned off the water supply to my toilet, but when I turned it back on the tank isn't filling. Help?
Longer version: My toilet has been doing that think where it makes the "filling up" noise for a long time post-flush, even when it seemed filled up, so I googled what to do and they said turn off the water supply and see what's up, so I did that. One of the options for the culprit was that the float was out of position, which you check by turning the water supply back on, so I did that. But now the tank is not filling up at all. This is bad for me, because I only have one toilet and I don't have any parts and it's Thanksgiving.
I am not so good at this kind of thing, but it looks like the flapper is placed at least as well as it was before I turned off the water supply? Other than that, I don't really know what to do, so any advice would be appreciated, thank you! |
