I have a milestone birthday coming up. Due to lockdown restrictions in my city, my original plans are no longer an option. What should I do to celebrate instead?
Current restrictions mean that I am unable to leave my home for anything other than essentials (grocery shopping, takeaway), medical care and exercise. Additional factors: it will be a weekday, my housemate will be working from home, it is winter and rainy.
Given these constraints, how should I celebrate my birthday and make it special? Assume I have some money to spend on this (both objects and experiences).
Things that I have thought of so far:
- Zoom with friends
- Reading a new book
- Watching a new tv show / movie
- Breakfast in bed
- Going for a long bicycle ride or walk
What I would have done in the before times:
- Had a few close friends over for a boozy dinner
- Gone hiking and camping with friends
- Gotten a massage and taken a nice long bath |
