I completely forgot that I bought a large aseptic carton of horchata till I was digging in the cupboard for something else. The best buy date is exactly a year ago. I'm not sure if I'd be able to tell if it was off just by smell because my tastebuds/sense of smell is a little borked from meds. It's not a big deal in the scheme of things, but I love horchata so I'm annoyed that I forgot I had some I could have been enjoying on these hot summer days!
