Hollow wall anchor

I need to hang a heavy thing (about 40 lbs) on a plastered wall (not drywall/gypsum board, house built in 1950). There is a hole 1/2" and about 5/8" deep (hollow behind that). Photos here.

I think an anchor like the one in the photo would work, but bigger. I'm not finding anything big enough though. What can you suggest
