Arc Raiders is revisiting cooperative play to assess whether sessions focused on fighting ARC machines can support players who prefer cooperation while preserving the appeal of its standard extraction experience. JcE means player versus environment, or PvE, and the proposed test removes damage between players without promising a permanent separate mode. When considering ARC Raiders Items for a PvE run, equipment choices still need to account for dangerous machines and reduced loot value.

Why cooperative play is being reconsidered

The game's original concept centered on cooperative PvE and looting before development moved toward PvPvE, where players face both machines and other Raiders. Revisiting PvE gives the developers a way to evaluate how the extraction experience works when another player cannot directly injure you.

That change affects more than combat. In standard sessions, meeting another Raider creates uncertainty: they might cooperate, leave you alone, or attack. Removing player damage changes that encounter and lets the test examine how much tension remains when machines provide the main combat threat.

A separate PvE option also raises questions about rewards and matchmaking. Lower risk from other players can affect how quickly resources enter the game economy, while an additional queue divides the available player population. The experiment needs to assess those effects alongside the appeal of cooperative play.

What the limited test would let you do

The scheduled test window runs from October 13, 2026, at 11:00 CEST to October 20, 2026, at 11:00 CEST. Its matchmaking toggle is associated with update 2.1.0 and allows players to choose between standard PvPvE sessions and the temporary PvE option.

Solo players, duos, and trios can enter the same PvE session. This means choosing solo does not restrict the session to other solo players. Participation does not affect your PvPvE matchmaking rating, and you can switch back to standard matchmaking during the test.

Inside the PvE sessions, players cannot damage each other. Stun and fire throwables also have no effect on other players, while barricades and ziplines retain their physical functions. ARC machines remain dangerous, so removing player damage does not remove the need to prepare for combat.

What the restrictions reveal about a possible permanent mode

Reduced overall loot value is part of the test's response to the lower threat from other players. That makes PvE a different choice for a run: it offers relief from direct player attacks, but its rewards are adjusted to reflect that change. No specific reduction percentage is established here, so expected earnings cannot be calculated reliably.

The test also excludes PvE matchmaking for Night Raid, Locked Gate, Hidden Bunker, Frigate, and Redirection. Players interested in those conditions would need to use the standard matchmaking option. Queue times may increase in quieter regions or outside busy hours because the additional option spreads players across more queues.

A permanent PvE mode is not promised. The planned arrangement removes the toggle when the test ends, with feedback and gameplay data informing whether the option returns. Any future version could use different restrictions, rewards, or matchmaking rules.

Before planning a session or reviewing ARC Raiders Materials for sale, check that your intended map condition supports the test and account for its reduced loot value. During the scheduled window, select the PvE matchmaking toggle when your priority is fighting machines without taking damage from other Raiders.
