Wheat spent the 2025 season with the after spending the prior two years with Dallas. He was originally an undrafted free agent. Wheat began his college career at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, then went to Mi si sippi State. The 6-foot-2, 263-pound defensive end is now 26 years old. When he first joined Dallas, he got into 12 games in the 2023 season, but he made just three total tackles. In 2024, Wheat dropped down to eight games played, but his contributions were a bit more frequent. He had 14 total tackles, including a tackle for a lo s and half a sack. MORE: Wheat left for the Lions in 2025 and got into 15 games with Detroit. He totaled 15 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a pa s defensed and a forced fumble. The Cowboys have had frequent movement along their defensive line in recent years, and while this isn't a high-profile signing, it's a chance to get someone familiar and trustworthy back in the building to add depth in a place that NFL teams can never really have too much depth.
