Depending on chemical composition and performance requirements, structural steel can be classified into carbon structural steel and low-alloy structural steel. Carbon structural steel, such as ASTM A36, provides excellent machinability and cost efficiency for general construction. Low-alloy structural steel, such as S355 and A572 Grade 50, offers higher strength and improved performance for demanding applications.
Structural steel plays a critical role in industries such as construction, shipbuilding, transportation, oil & gas, mining, and power generation. It is commonly manufactured into steel plates, H beams, I beams, angle steel, channels, and welded structures to meet different project requirements.
Thanks to its outstanding combination of strength, flexibility, and economic value, structural steel continues to be a preferred choice for global infrastructure projects and industrial manufacturing.
