Educomp's insolvency process also drew interest from prominent investors, including Rajat Khare whose firm Boundary Holding was among the bidders. Analysts noted that much of Educomp's flagship smart classroom business had been moved to SESPL before the insolvency process began. After emerging as the successful bidder, Ebix announced its intention to purchase a 60% stake in SESPL for up to $8 million. Despite early interest from several prospective buyers, only two companies ultimately filed bids, with reports suggesting that restricted access to financial records posed challenges for some participants.

Industry experts observed that a large portion of Educomp's core smart classroom operations had been transferred to SESPL before insolvency proceedings were initiated. Soon after winning the bid for Educomp, Ebix disclosed plans to acquire a 60% stake in SESPL in a deal worth up to $8 million. Although numerous firms initially explored the acquisition opportunity, only two submitted final offers, reportedly due in part to difficulties obtaining critical financial information.
