Keys disappear fast in Season 14, so it pays to decide what you're chasing before you step into a lair. A player stocking up on D4 Gold for upgrades should be even more selective, because a build-changing Unique is usually worth more than another pile of random drops. Start with the item that makes your setup work. If your build needs Fractured Winterglass, don't drift between bosses hoping for a lucky general-pool roll. Run Astaroth. If you need Godslayer Crown, Andariel is the cleaner choice. It sounds obvious, but plenty of players still burn Greater Keys on bosses whose tables do nothing for them.
The big shift this season is that regular Uniques can roll at Mythic quality. That makes dedicated tables matter twice: first for getting the base item, then for chasing its best version. The July 14 patch also fixed Mythic rolls from Lair Boss sources, so old drop-rate stories aren't much use now. For a character that's still missing core gear, Initiate bosses are often the sensible play. Varshan, Grigoire, Zir, the Beast in the Ice, and Urivar cost standard Lair Keys and can get a build off the ground without draining your premium materials. Once your build is online, Belial becomes far more interesting because you can select another boss's loot table before opening his hoard.

Corrupted Reaper is great, but it isn't a magic answer for every item. Its combined boss pool is wide, which feels nice when you need several upgrades, yet it's poor when you're after one precise class weapon or ring. Think of it as a progression run rather than a sniper run. The Pandemonium Fragments are the real safety net. Four fragments can upgrade a Unique to Mythic through the Horadric Cube, so bad luck still moves your account forward. Boss Trophies work in much the same way. A missed drop from Duriel or Andariel can still turn into another controlled roll later, which takes some sting out of dry sessions.
A practical route is simple: get your mandatory Uniques from their dedicated bosses, move to Belial when one chosen table still has value, then spend spare Superior Keys on Corrupted Reaper for fragments and wider Mythic hunting. Keep an eye on clear speed, too. A slightly lower Torment that you can clear without fuss may beat a slow high-Torment grind over an evening. If you decide to buy D4 Gold for crafting, tempering, or repairs, use that extra flexibility to improve the build you already have instead of chasing every rare drop at once.
