An IDP is not a separate driving licence. It is a supporting document used together with a valid national licence. It cannot replace the original licence, add new vehicle categories, or remove local driving restrictions.
If You Have an Israeli Driving Licence
If your licence was issued in Israel, the official international driving licence is intended for driving abroad. According to the Israeli Ministry of Transport, Israeli drivers should obtain an international driving licence before driving in foreign countries.
The Israeli international driving licence is valid for up to three years, or until the Israeli driving licence expires, whichever comes first.
