Auf dem Palika-Markt in Delhi entdeckte die Polizei einen Störsender für Mobiltelefone, der aus China stammt.
Am Sonntag teilten die Behörden mit, dass die Polizei von Delhi im Rahmen einer Kontrolle vor Diwali einen chinesischen Mobilfunk-Störsender in Palika Chowk, der Hauptstadt, sichergestellt hat.
Unsere Teams sind damit beauftragt, vor dem Festival sämtliche Geschäfte, Hotels und andere öffentliche Orte zu überprüfen. Bei einer speziellen Inspektion stieß ein Team auf einen verdächtigen Gegenstand, erklärte Devesh Kumar Mahla, der stellvertretende Polizeikommissar von Neu-Delhi.
Er berichtete, dass das Gerät, das die Funktion eines Mobilfunk-Störsenders hatte, sofort in Gewahrsam genommen wurde.
Alle Standardverfahren zur Überprüfung des Geräts werden von uns eingehalten. Darüber hinaus haben wir die Personen vor Ort darum gebeten, die Polizei sofort zu informieren, wenn sie auf verdächtige Gegenstände stoßen, fügte Mahala hinzu.
Laut einem hochrangigen Polizeibeamten handelt es sich bei einem Handy Störsender um ein Gerät, das Funksignale aussendet, um die Kommunikation anderer Geräte in seiner Reichweite zu stören oder zu blockieren.
Laut dem Beamten stört es die Kommunikation, indem es die Empfänger überlastet, was häufig zu Problemen bei Mobilfunknetzen, GPS und drahtlosen Netzwerksystemen führt.
Die Verwendung von Störsendern in Indien ist ausschließlich mit einer Genehmigung der zuständigen Regierungsbehörde erlaubt.
Laut einem anderen hochrangigen Polizeibeamten dürfen nur ausgewählte Regierungsbehörden, darunter zentrale Ministerien, die Verteidigungskräfte sowie die Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Störsender einsetzen, die von genehmigten Herstellern des öffentlichen Sektors stammen.
