The league officially launched on January 9 with an announcement from longtime former NFL scout John Peterson, who will be serving as the league's president. "There's a tremendous need for a developmental and instructional league," Peterson . "The purpose is to help players get selected for the NFL and other pro leagues in Canada or arena football."
