Rod Fergusson, head of Gears of War developer The Coalition, has announced the studio's departure to join Blizzard. Fergusson has been an integral part of the Gears of War franchise from the beginning, working on the very first installment of the franchise and each subsequent entry since.
In tweets, Fergusson confirmed he is joining Blizzard in March to oversee the Diablo franchise. He also thanked his former co-workers in The Coalition and Xbox. "Leaving is bittersweet , as I cherish my Gears family, our fans as well as everyone who works at The Coalition and Xbox," he stated. "Thank you, it has been a pleasure and privilege to be a part of your team every single one of you."
