Definition of surrogacy and how does it work?

By definition, surrogacy is the process or arrangement by which a person gives birth to someone else. Surrogacy in Kenya helps people who cannot have children to become parents. It is a process that requires medical and legal expertise as well as strong support along the way. People who are looking for surrogacy to have a child are often referred to as intended parents (IP for short).

With IVF, embryos are created in the laboratory of a fertility clinic. Sometimes the intended parents use their own genetic material. Sometimes an egg donor is needed. In a fertility clinic, 1 or 2 embryos are implanted in a gestational carrier that carries the baby to term.

Do surrogate mothers use their own eggs for surrogacy? No! Gestational carriers are not genetically related to the baby(s) they are carrying.

Surrogacy has long been a familiar construction option, although it has evolved over the years.

What is the difference between a surrogate mother and a gestational carrier?

In circle surrogacy, we only do gestational surrogacy, though it is important to know the difference. This video talks about the difference between surrogate mother and gestational carrier or surrogate mother.

Why choose surrogacy to support your family?
Why choose surrogacy to support your family?
Surrogacy allows couples and individuals of different backgrounds, ages and sexual orientations to start families.

Parents using surrogacy include:

• Heterosexual couples struggling with infertility
• Pregnant mothers who cannot have children
• The parent has a genetic defect or health condition that they do not want to pass on to the child.
• Prospective gay and transgender parents who wish to have a genetic relationship with their child.

Each surrogacy journey is unique and we are proud to help raise so many wonderful families in the United States and around the world.

How much does a surrogate mother cost?

The cost of a surrogate mother is only a fee that complements the total cost of surrogacy.

If you live in the US, you can estimate the cost of surrogacy from $110,000 to $175,000 per trip, excluding IVF costs. Actual travel expenses depend on the services the intended parent needs (whether you only need a surrogate or a surrogate plus egg donor), youIr insurance, and the details of your particular trip. Each trip is unique: there is no universal cost.

Of these total costs, about 40% will go to the surrogate mother: her basic compensation, benefits and additional payments, her legal advice, social work and evaluation.

For parents who use a surrogacy agency (highly recommended), the agency fee will also be included in your surrogacy cost. READ MORE
