I combined everyday soap bubbles with exotic ferrofluid liquid to create an eerie tale, using macro lenses and time lapse techniques. Black ferrofluid and dye race through bubble structures, drawn through by the invisible forces of capillary action and magnetism. Time-lapse sequences: Nikon D90, Nikkor 60mm macro lens and custom built intervalometer. Motion-control: Arduino driven scanner platform and mirror rigs Score: Ableton Live View Compressed 01 vimeo.com/22866665 Twitter twitter.com/kpimmel

Song by Cinematic Orchestra cinematicorchestra.com/ Shot with a 5D MK II and a 7D Zeiss 35, 50 1.4, 85 1.2, Canon 15mm, 24mm, 24-105, 70-300mm, MOCA Kessler Cineslider, revolution head, and various DIY contraptions I've built for zoom motor control. I sought out to capture the electric radiance of Los Angeles at night. It took me 6 months of on and off shooting to finish this project and I've learned a couple things along the way. First off, LA might be the entertainment capital of the world, but it sure is difficult to shoot around downtown without having homeland security officers, police, or security take notice and harass you. Know your shooting rights! Shooting time lapses is a labor of love and a study in patience. facebook.com/colinrich1 pacificstarflight.com/Pacific_Star/Open.html
