how do I pitch?

Not a baseball question. A writer friend of mine is starting a storytelling series in our town and has requested that those of us who are interested in participating should email him pitches for a short, 6-10 story we'd want to tell on stage.
I'm also a writer, and I'm a good conversationalist, and I have a theater background, and think the combination of the three might be conducive to this; regardless of my supposed bona fides, I'd like to give this a shot. However, I am having trouble figuring out how to write such a pitch and most of the resources online I've found are very MOTH specific (and assume that I will be recording my pitch, which my friend organizing this project has specifically requested we not do).
Are there any resources that anyone can point me to that might help me with this email pitch? Failing that, if any of you has any direct advice for me on how to do this, I will obviously be happy to hear it!
Thanks! |
