Can You Hear Me Now?! (Google Hangouts + iPhone Edition)

When I receive phone calls to my Google Voice number via Google Hangouts, I cannot hear the caller, nor can they hear me. I have no problems with outbound calls. Help?

I use my Google Voice number as my primary number (separate from my actual phone number). For years, Sprint offered Google Voice integration that allowed me to make and receive phone calls in the native iPhone phone app.

Now that this integration has been discontinued, all of the inbound calls to my Google Voice number come through Google Hangouts. When someone calls me and I try to answer, I cannot hear the caller and they cannot hear me. But when I make outbound calls, I have no issues.

Here's what I've tried so far to troubleshoot:

- Enabled the following setting in Google Hangouts:
—- "allow calls on WiFi and cellular
—-"answer on lock screen"

- Enabled "allow call forwarding" setting in Google Voice to forward calls to my actual number

I'm at a loss for how to proceed. I've been dealing with it by letting those calls go to voicemail and then dialing the caller back, but that is a clunky solution.

In theory, I could get rid of my original number entirely and port my GV number out to Sprint and then back out to Google Voice, but I do occasionally use my original phone number and it'd be nice to keep both of them.

Thanks in advance for your help!
