NYE Euro Trip Help Please!!

Trying to make holiday plans....

This year my holiday trip crew decided on doing a wintry trip in Europe! Eleven full days, spanning Dec 28 - Jan 7 (with Dec 26-27 and Jan 8 as travel days), flying in and out of Prague. I know open-jaw is more ideal but the roundtrip we found was $500 cheaper.

Trying to decide now between Prague > Vienna > Budapest > Prague or Prague > Vienna > Munich > Prague (with may a daytrip or two thrown in).

We want to be in Vienna for New Years Eve.

I've heard great thing about Budapest, but Munich also appeals in terms of daytrips or stopping in smaller Austrian towns along the way.

Any advice?
