How do I fine-tune Android Oreo notifications?
I just got a Pixel 2 XL (running 8.1), and I generally like its notification behavior, but. My two main sports interests are baseball and soccer, and based on...something, Google has started to notify me of events in those sports I really don't care about - start times and score alerts for games involving teams I don't care about, team news for soccer teams I've never heard of, etc.
I know there's got to be a place where I can tell Google to only serve me notifications for teams I am interested in, or to specifically tell them not to send me ones I don't, but I can't find it - all I can find is how to shut them off entirely, which I don't want. I do want to be able to dictate which notifications I get and for which subjects, and I don't know how to do that.
The semi-swipe on a specific notification reveals a gear wheel that will allow me to shut off all notifications, but what I don't know is if that's all notifications related to the teams in the alert I'm in, or all notifications related to the sport as a whole. I want the former, but do not want the latter.
I looked on the Google "My Account" page but can't find such a fine-tune option. I'm probably missing something simple...can you show me what that is? |
