Hi Metafilter, please share your wisdom on eating somewhat old smoked salmon, details inside!

Here's the relevant deets:

-salmon was given to my friend a couple days ago, apparently it was bought from the store 3 weeks prior.
-it is just in a loose bag, not shrink wrapped
-salmon smells smoky when the bag is opened, but does not look heavily smoked (has that kind of pink raw-ish look as opposed to the smoked salmon that is more like jerky)
-does not smell bad/off

Can she eat this?
