M1 iMac Thunderbolt Hub/Dock Recommendations

Got an M1 iMac, want to connect all my stuff and have decision paralysis.

I migrated to an M1 iMac a few months ago and need to have all my stuff connected to it: multiple USB external hard drives, Scansnap scanner, printer (I know, but school projects!), 2012 MacBook Pro (this is a dream, isn't it), future external monitor, and SuperDrive (those obscure reggae CDs still need to be ripped). In addition to charging other items like iPad, phone, keyboard, magic trackpad, trackball, and headphones... Man, tangled up in cords.

So, I am staring at a lot of hub/dock options that range from cheap to pricey. Heck, even OWC has multiple options. What do you recommend to tame this tangle on my way to power? Complications are that it needs to be available to Australia.
