Dual Citizenship Canada/ US or US/Canada... with complications

Hi friends! I fell in love with a Canadian! Yay! That's great because the US is a scary place, he has his loving family in Ontario, where we want to end up long term and I am unattached here.... Except..

I started my own business here, and it just opened a year ago after so many trials and tribulations. I have been working towards this work goal for quite some time.

After 6 months LDR, and 2 months of him being here in the US with me, we are inseparable. We know we want to end up in ONT because he has a multi-generational family unit including an aging family member, and they all went through a big loss of another family member with COVID, so we want to be with them sooner rather than later.

I want to move, my family is distant and scattered, but I'm concerned about my work. I didn't anticipate falling in love.

He has a nice tech job in canada that makes sense to keep if we're moving back in a year or so, it'll also grant me flexibility to find work leisurely.

He says he'll stay longer here, and we are getting "married" for ease either way. Does it make sense for him to get dual, stay a while, then I get dual when we move? Or if we are prioritizing our relationship (we are) should I just hand off my nonprofit childcare and move next summer so it's not needlessly complicated?

Help me think this through!!

TIA!
