Seeking cold shoulder strategies
Two years ago I took a part-time summer job at a sports facility because one of the perks is free, unlimited use of the pool. I recently took a job there again. There is a long-time employee there who is unsavory and a low-grade bully and also behaves in ways that very much teeter on the side of sexual harassment. The facility manager is aware of Mr. Unsavory's behavior, but his behavior, although very creepy, has not crossed the line into illegal territory.
Mr. Unsavory is supposed to spend 50% of his day in an office with others who do his type of work. But, instead, he spends most of that 50% hanging around me, asking what I'm doing and why, and telling me (incorrectly) how to do my job - and he once remarked to me that I should check the tie on my swim top because it looked like it was coming untied (it was definitely not).
So, my question is: Do you have any suggestions as to types of subtle behavior I can exhibit that will make it unappealing to Mr. Unsavory to hang around me? |
