Recently the whole family has been enjoying questions whose answers make sense after a bit of explanation. Example 1, seen in the The West Wing, asks: Which player do you pick for your team?

2 baseball players run to first base; they have identical times. One has perfect form and one has lousy form. Which player do you pick for your team?

Example 2 asks which areas of warplanes to pre-emptively reinforce, based on available data from damaged ones.
Looking at the bullet holes suggests adding protection where the planes sustained the most damage, but this ignores the planes that did not return from their missions.

What we are looking for: more like the above, in any form – books, websites, stories, questions you've been asked at interviews, anecdotes.

What we're not looking for: How many golf balls can fit into a 747 / how many piano tuners are there in Chicago / a bat and a ball cost 1 dollar 10 type things.
