Due to a miscommunication, my one year old twins wound up eating, for lunch, chicken that was cooked one week ago today. What do I do?
Husband thought he threw the chicken away. He didn't. Our nanny saw it and assumed it was freshly cooked because who keeps seven day old chicken in the fridge? (Apparently we do). She said it didn't smell off, and the kids liked it just as much as usual. I just threw it away and it smelled not terrible but a little chickenier than usual.
Also, my daughter threw up after she ate it, but not in a food poisoning violent way, in a "I put too much delicious chicken in my mouth at once" way (I'm hearing this second hand).
I know food poisoning isn't instant like this anyway.
What is the likelihood my kids are food poisoned? And what should we do right now?
