Cabin renovation

Have you ever just covered up old vinyl flooring and wood panelling?

I have a cabin that I bought about a year ago. It was built in the late 70s and and is outfitted with the standard vinyl flooring and wood panelling on the walls. There is a certain charm to this, but at the same time it feels dated and dark. The cabin is a rustic kind of vibe, nestled in the forest.

I'm thinking about covering the walls and floors in white paint.

I've read the blogs about how to do to it, and all that, but I'm wondering if there are folks who have done this and if they had any regrets. I know that once I do it, there's no real going back, other than putting in a new floor say, but I don't really have the money to do that.

So if you covered up your original stuff in white paint, how did it go and how do you feel?
